>>> thank you to your donation to tour take 5 give 5 campaign.

People like you make a donation, that's what makes our community great.

>> najahe sherman: we are joined right now by kim oagle with toyota manufacturing.

>> this is a pleasure.

We've so excited to share our milestones with everyone tonight.

>> najahe sherman: we've made so much progress in such a little time.

In so little time.

How can we continue to help?

>> we've talked a lot about giving tuesday and the last two weeks but what we are celebrating tonight the milestones we've all achieved but what we really would like to encourage people who may not have had a chance to give over the next two weeks, we will still have opportunities to support these local non-profits through the community foundation.

So we hope that you have been inspired and encouraged by the stories that you've seen for the families and individuals who are receiving these funds.

>> dan shaffer: if you can look ahead to 2021, what does next year look like?

>> you know, dan, we don't know yet.

I think that we are going to see continued increase in community needs, food programs, help with utilities and just all sorts of essentials.

I think for us this is our springboard for moving forward into 2021 to continuing to help those who have been impacted by coronavirus.

>> najahe sherman: how the we make sure that our communities and those around us continue to get the help and support that they need?

>> we have discovered so many opportunities for help through, you know, our new partnerships that have been established through this giving campaign.

And i would encourage that if you are in need to reach out to your local non-profits because they can serve as a gateway to getting you the resources that you may need, that you might not be aware of.

>> dan shaffer: thank you for everything that you've done, and ttoyota, of course.

It has been fan tan tick.

>> it's been an amaze prog jeght.

On behalf of toyota we're so grateful to the greater huntsville and the commerce and the waay 31 team.

We have not have done this alone and it has truly epitomized the phrase "stronger together."

>> dan shaffer: stay was.

We're going to tell you how much money we raise and today facebook announced the biggest "take 5 to give 5" foundation.

>> hello.

I'm the community gop it regional manager for facebook.

Since we broke down in the huntsville data center in 2018 we have been so proud and honored to call huntsville home.

We've seen the devastating impacts of the covid-19 pandemic has had on the local huntsville community and the communities around the globe.

At facebook we stepped up to help support huntsville and local community needs experiencing these challenging times.

That's why tonight we are so proud to partner with the community foundation of greater huntsville to make a $100,000 donation to support their covid-19 relief fund as part of their "take 5 give 5" campaign.

We want to thank the community foundation and all of those in huntsville that are making a difference during this challenging time.

At facebook, our notion is to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together.

Around now, more than ever, we can't thank our communities enough for all that they're doing during this challenging time.

From the bottom of our hearts at facebook, thank you for all that you're doing.

>> najahe sherman: and that brings our fund-raising total to $667,144.

Way to go!

>> dan shaffer: that is a fantastic amount of money.

Kim, let me go back to you for a few minutes here.

>> sure.

>> dan shaffer: did you ever imagine we would get over $667,000?

>> no idea.

In fact, when we first had our conversation about launching this campaign we were trying to think of a good target.

And to go along with the 5 theme we said, okay, we'll just shoot for $500,000.

I think we all took a deep breath and hoped for the best.

And we have been blown away by the support from the community individuals and businesses.

It's just -- it's phenomenal.

And we are very grateful and thank you very much to every single person who supported with this effort.

>> najahe sherman: just incredible exceed our expectations and the money is going to do so much good for our communities mp.

.>> yes.

>> dan shaffer: this has got to reflect well on all of your employee, not only huntsville, alabama, the nation, the world.

It's been incredible mp.

.>> it has.

We have launched campaigns in all of the toyota facilities across the u.s. and our team members, it's in our dna to support our communities and our team members.

And that's what we will continue to do.

And effort doesn't have to stop here.

Continue to donate if you like.

>> najahe sherman: absolutely.
