Frost advisory vs freeze warning
What you need to know about fragile plants

Sean parts of the area are under a freeze warning tonight, but what's the difference between a frost advisory and a freeze warning???

Lets discuss frost occurs when temps dip to around 36 degrees or below.

This allows for morning dew to condense as frost on plants, especially taller ones away from the ground.

This can be damging to very fragile plants.

At this point though, the ground is keeping the plants rather warm.

Freeze?

When temps dip to 32 or below.

Now plants are having a more difficult time fighting off the cold.

This will kill fragile plants.

Others will be okay, but not for extended periods of time.

A hard freeze 28 degrees or below.

The cold now reaches into the ground.

Even the hardier plants will suffer in this scenario.

About what you can do to keep scott: you can either cover them with um, its best not to use plastic.

Its better to use a bedsheet or a blanket and put over them.

You can take 5 gallon bucks or containers and out over them.

Its really about trying to keep that frost from forming on the plant.

Once it does, that's when the plant is going to go downhill really quickly.

Scott also said you can bring your plants inside if possible.

And tonight may not be the only night we are faced with cold temps.
