Governor Tate Reeves wants to give churches recommendations to welcome congregations back into the sanctuary.
Tate reeves says while he and his family will continue to worship at home, he wants to give churches recommendations to welcome congregations back into the sanctuary.
The eight pages of guidelines were released today during the governor's daily briefing.
The guide encourages sanitation policies, microphone practices, and limited capacity.
The recommendations also include no choir performances and encourages solo performances and using multiple microphones.
Reeves believes these changes to need to remain in place for a while.
"we have to continue to be mindful.
We have to continue to be smart.
We have to continue to socially distance whether we're in church, at work, or somewhere in between.
We have to continue to fight this invisible enemy.
" "social distancing and masks can prevent coronavirus transmission.
So just as a reminder, please continue to maintain social distancing, minimize trips out in to public, and when you are out, please always wear a mask.
" a shelter-in-place order remains in effect for anyone 65-years or older.
Reeves says state health officials are strongly discouraging large groups from gathering, but people must also make personal decisions best for them.
