-- when arriving at the polls.

The indiana primary election is scheduled for june 2nd and warrick county residents are already taking advantage of early voting.

As far as the early voting that's taking place here in the judicial center, yesterday we had 63 voters and today we were at i believe it was 51.

We're probably at about a little over 45 hundred absentee ballots for this primary and in 2016 at this time we were only at 500.

In order to make sure that people can vote safely, officials are making sure all social distancing guidelines are followed.

The secretary of state has been kind enough to supply us with microfiber towels, hand sanitizer, sanitizer to clean the machines off, masks, gloves, cleaning off the machines after every voter.

We can't require that people wear masks, however, we would like that they wear masks.

If they don't have a mask we do have masks that we can provide to them.

And with the presidential election in november, officials are preparing for anything that could change between now and then.

We are looking at possibly being able to do it at ohio township library and maybe in a facility up in the northern part of the county so that we are fair to all the voters.

Now if you would like to participate in early voting you can do so this week from 8-4, saturday from 8-3, and on june 1st from 8am to noon.
