While speaking to ANI in the national capital on May 29 amid coronavirus pandemic, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain spoke on consultations with Union Home Minister Amit Shah over coronavirus lockdown.
He said, "Delhi government believes that places where large gatherings take place, like cinema halls, should remain closed.

"Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain tests negative for COVID-19, to be discharged from hospital today," said Office of Delhi Health Minister. Earlier on Sunday, Jain's condition improved, following the plasma therapy that was administered to him in a bid to treat him for coronavirus. Last week, Jain's condition deteriorated and he was put on oxygen support after his lung infection increased. He was admitted to a hospital in northeast Delhi on June 16 after he complained of breathlessness and high fever. He had tested positive for COVID-19 on June 17.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain has been admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital on June 16. He is suffering from high grade fever and a sudden drop in oxygen levels last night. He is likely to be tested for COVID-19 today. He is on oxygen support due to breathlessness. Jain on June 15 had attended all-party meeting chaired by Home Minister Amit Shah.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah along with Health and Family Welfare Dr Harsh Vardhan held a crucial meeting with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Union Territory Health Minister Satyendar Jain regarding the galloping cases in the national capital. Delhi LG Anil Baijal and State Disaster Management Authority were also present in the meeting. During the meeting, dignitaries review the situation in Delhi regarding dreadful COVID-19. The cases in Delhi and Maharashtra are rocketing everyday, Delhi has recorded 2,134 active cases and 57 deaths in last 24 hours.
Lockdown in Thiruvananthapuram has been extended for a week to restrict COVID spread. In order to ensure restrictions, police personnel in Thiruvananthapuram are in action. IDs of people are being checked as they move about for their daily chores. Triple-lockdown (more restrictions) has also been imposed in containment zones. Jewellery shop owners in Surat are incurring losses as gold artisans have returned to their native places due to COVID-19. Vijay Mangukiya, Secretary, Surat Jewellery Association said, "Around 70% of artisans have left in COVID fear.""Most of these artisans are from West Bengal. Our expenses are fixed but income has reduced as there is shortage of labour as well as less demand for gold. The condition has become so worst that we are unable to survive," Vijay Mangukiya added. In the times of pandemic the demand of gold has also gone down.
In view of the increasing COVID-19 cases in the state, Uttar Pradesh government on July 09 announce a 3-day complete lockdown across the state. The shutdown came into force from 10 pm on July 10 and will continue till 5 am on July 13. Supply of essentials will be ensured through doorstep delivery. Government will allow the incoming trains and the passengers will be able to use special buses to reach their homes.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited DRDO-built Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel COVID Hospital in Delhi Cantonment on July 05. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan also visited the COVID Hospital. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and DRDO Chairman G Satheesh Reddy were also present. The DRDO-built Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel COVID-19 Hospital in Delhi Cantonment is the temporary hospital structure. The hospital will have 1,000 beds including 250 ICU beds. "DRDO, Ministry of Home Affairs, Tata Sons Industries and with support of many organisations set up this 1000 bedded temporary hospital for COVID-19 patients in just 12 days. Over 250 intensive care units are available here in accordance with WHO guidelines," Rajnath Singh said.
Police personnel are keeping a close check on vehicles at Delhi-Noida border as Uttar Pradesh government has imposed lockdown in the State from 10 pm on July 10 to 5 am on 13th July. Vehicles were seen moving at snale's pace at DND flyway. Only essential services have been permitted.
