Lawmakers are still considering*another round of relief for americans.

Here locally-- virtual job fairs are being held throughout the tri-state to help people get back to work.

44news reporter kory kempf has the story.

"there are still jobs out there, there are still good jobs out there, and there are still very, very good candidates out there."

With the cares act unemployment benefits set to expire next month, millions of americans are looking to return to work.

And while some businesses look to fill empty roles by posting their openings online, others have turned to --- less traditional methods.

"right now, with the current situation that everyone is facing, this seems like this is going to be the easiest way to meet them still face- to-face but still with social distancing."

They're called virtual job fairs.

With offices everywhere being closed down due to the coronavirus pandemic, recruiters at manpower, an unemployment agency, realized the need for staffing was still there.

"whenever covid hit, we had decided that we still wanted to work full-force and make sure that all of our associates and candidates that were calling still had the ability to get a job."

"but now that businesses across the country are finally reopening, employers are desperately looking to fill the void."

"we are getting more orders in, we're having more phone calls about jobs going to be opening up soon, clients looking for strong candidates" so although millions of americans are still applying for unemployment benefits, there is strong job growth in certain professions.

Some of those industries, "financial services, food manufacturing services, and definitely automotive services; those are probably the top three that we're getting phone calls about left and right at the moment."
