Enchanted Forest getting ready to reopen

Enchanted forest water safari is preparing to reopen its doors for pahse four- for pahse four- that's if the mohawk valley meets the metrics.

The water park expects to reopen on saturday, under new restrictions.

News channel 2's brent kearney tells us what that will look like.

Enchanted forest water safari vice president and director of marketing, katie wojdyla says park goers are going to be greeted with a new set of pool rules this summer.

"we're going to require facemasks while entering the park.

They just cant be worn while your going down the slides or if you're in the water because its just not safe."

We are working on training staff.

Getting our new signage put up for social distancing.

All of our lien cues will be social distance as well and we're just looking for people to cooperate so we can provide a safe experience for everyone."

Capacity inside of the park will also be limited.

The park plans on using a reservation system.

You can book your time when you buy a ticket through their website or by calling the park itself.

In terms of the number of people the park is limited to, wojdyla says they're waiting on state guidelines.

"phase 4 guidelines havent come out yet but we are basing our guidelines that we've released so far because we have to move forward with our plans to open on saturday the 27th.

None park management says that they are targeting next week to re-open the park but i say three seekers will have to wait just a few more weeks to get on the new slides.

"we did have a shut down for a couple of weeks.

Several weeks during the pandemic and it has put us back to reach our target of opening day.

But we're hopeful that they're going to be able to be reopened for mid july.

Wojdyla says its hard to tell how the regulations will affect the park financially.

It's hard to tell because we will have to limit capacity.

We're unsure what the summer at work would be we have a lot of factors that play into our business mainly the weather.

It's about people feeling safe and we've worked hard to create a safe environment for people to visit so we're hoping that the gas still come.

Plan and make your reservations early because there is going to be a limit to the capacity.
