12 north sports bar in marcy is starting up their axe throwing league to give people something fun to do.

None "axe throwing is a great way for people to get outside a great way for 2 on 2 to get together and maintain social distance and you can still wear a face covering and have a good time."

Karen martin and her husband own 12 north sports bar.

After a hard couple of months... she's hoping to get all of her leagues back up and running.

"its been difficult being closed for three months definitely hurt a lot "our leagues make our winter this is where we make our money its our bread and butter and its hurt business a lot that we haven't been able to do that."

The event is hosted by woodchuckers axe throwing based out of pittsburgh.

The owner and operator says she was happy to bring axe throwing to the area.

"we were very excited to be here in the mohawk valley region in february, we opened up inside at 12 north and now we're using our outdoor mobile units to bring some entertainment outside."

I spoke to one of the throwers who says this is a great way to get outside and blow off some steam.

"its nice to get out of work and do something like this and enjoy it with my friends and family."

"its nice to come back to how things were before this happened and act like everything's back to normal."

I decided to give it my best try... at first, it was tough... but after a few failed attempts... i think i nailed.

"until you try it you don't know how much fun it is, you have to try it."
