3 early voting for the presidential primary and municipal primary are taking place but there are new guidelines and precautions.

Early voting is underway now until july 4th for the presidential preference primary.

I spoke with the lafayette voters registrar on changes that have been made due to covid-19, safety precautions and what voters can expect.

"you have to be either a democract or a republican to vote in this election," in lafayette, voters can visit the registrar of voters office monday through saturday from 8:30a-m until 6 p-m "we are asking voters to bring their own masks and pens.

I's just to help precent the spread of the virus if we should encontuer some here,"voting commisioners across the state are also taking extra precautions to keep everyone safe"we are wearing gowns, masks, face shields and gloves to assist you," stand up: voters who are at severe risk for covid-19, quarentined, displaying symptoms, or caring for someone wh's susceptible for the corona virus may request absentee ballots... early voting locations vary by parish.
