News at six.) roadways again experiencing flooding this afternoon... thanks for joining us on live at five i'm jodie o'brien.

Getting around town was a trickier task than normal thanks to ponding on the streets of st.

Joseph, but residents say something else is contributing to all that excess water kq2's ron johnson joins us now live to explain, ron?

Jodie, good afternoon those residents say that the city's sewer system is partially to blame for many of the flooding we've seen all across town over the past in recent days.

Since last week, the st.

Joseph area has seen aproximatley 10-15 inches of rainfall that number varies across town and all of it seemingly too much for that sewer system, we've seen ponding on roads leading to several car rescues, and not to mention all the flooding down on the southside.

We spoke with the director of public works about the citywide sewer system he assures residents there was no clog in it.

(sot ) "as well as its going to."

The public works director also shared that there was a proposal to address the sewer issue back in the 90's, the army core of engineers declined to move forward on it because they didn't see the value in investing in the area for now live in st.
