I actually got to crawl around inside of it.

"*17 was still in use by the military as a photo reconnaissanc e in asia ?

"* then a test airplane during operation greenhouse for atomic testing ?

"* used by the coast guard ?

"* and then a firebomber.

The stop in north iowa is part of the air force airbase arizona's nationwide tour with the planes.

With many world war 2 veterans passing away ?

"* senior pilot chris schaich (shike) says the tour helps "whether they were a rosie riveter or a crew member on a b?

"*17, or somebody that just touched the airplane, this is their monument.

We're losing our veterans at an alarming rate from that era, so as they pass, this is what's left to honor their sacrifices and their honor."
