WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — COVID-19 currently has a disproportionate impact on racial and ethnic minorities across the country.

Here in middle georgia... to help minimize the spread... one local church is providing free covid-19 drive-thru testing.

Espinosa: it's about everybody, we can't take care of each other, unless everybody's taken care of, you know?

To help minimize the spread, resmano de paz church in warner robins organized relief effort to provide testing to reach more hispanics and others.

Kari kaviten: we are trying to now to reach the populations that don't have as much access to covid testing and in areas that are reporting higher covid rates as well.

According to the cdc, hispanic communities are more vulnerable to the coronavirus, due to many factors that include resources and healthcare.

That's why core site manager, juan espinosa, says they want to help more minority communities slow the spread.

Espinosa: there is a four times higher chance of latino communities, latinx communities, and black communities being affected most when it comes to the coronavirus in the united states and a lot of the time due to the funding to the community in the surrounding the church will test tomorrow from 10 a-m until 4 p-m.
