Smith was working with another crew on another job when the calls started pouring in with reports of injuries and storm damage.

Smith and his team were one of the first first responders on the ground and spent several hours and days helping those who were effected.

Smith says they couldnt get far but they took the rest of the night on foot carrying some to safety.

Then training kicks in.
