Groundskeeper Speaks On Bizarre Finding

Waay 31's Breken Terry spoke with the cemetery grounds keeper who found Sushi the Goat's head while he was making his rounds.

Over 24 hours later - sushi's head was found in a cemetery.

Waay31's breken terry is live at the cemetery after speaking with the man who made the starteling discovery.

Breken?

Groundskeeper frank willbanks - who goes by bubba - told me finding a goats head was one of the strangest things he's ever come across in the cemetery.

He said what made it more strange - is that it was placed in the middle of the cemetery's grounds.

He told me he believes someone killed sushi because the goat's head was severed cleanly - and a predator wouldn't have discarded it.

Bubba- i found a lot of weird things out here but that was one of the weirdest.

Frank willbanks told me he was cutting grass when he came across sushi the goat's head.

Bubba- it had been sliced down to the bone and cut.

Wilbanks said he's an avid hunter - so he knew only a human could make a clean cut like that.

He said there were also no signs the head had been dragged by an animal to get to the area it was found.

He said he thinks someone tried to hide sushi's head - since it was yards away from any access road.

Bubba- somebody cut it off and brought it out here and laid it down hoping it wouldn't be found.

Wilbanks and his employees searched the grounds for any blood or sushi's body.

They didn't find anything.

Tuscumbia police are working on any leads in the case.

But - they said so far nothing about it appears to be part of a satanic ritual or sacrifice.

And mark mcllwain, sushi's owner, said he's even had some people reach out to him to clear their names.

Mcllwain- we've had some phone calls that people left devil worshipers names on my phone anonymously and each of those people, i reached out and talked with them and they said look we have nothing to do with this.

The mcllwain's just want to know who could have done this to sushi.

And wilbanks said he wants to know too.

Bubba- to be a pet it was just wrong the mcllwain family is offering a 2,000 reward leading to the arrest and prosecution of sushi's killer.

Tuscumbia police believe sushi could have been taken and possibly eaten.

They said whoever is responsible could face animal cruelty and theft charges.
