U-k students will not have a spring break next year..

University officials say the idea is to compress the academic calendar... and to encourage students to stay on campus, as much as possible..

The change was one of the topics brought up between students and u-k officials, about safety on campus, during the covid-19 pandemic..

Officials stressed the importance of daily symptom screening.... saying it puts health at the forefront of the students' minds.

The students were also told there is mental health support available if they needed it..

Students involved in greek life were also reassured they could safely self- quarantine, in their sororities or fraternities.
