Christian groups deploy in the Rogue Valley to help fire victims cope

The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team and Samaritan's Purse are helping those suffering in the wake of devastating fires.

Newswatch 12's hailey gravitt went to a local church today where a national support effort is helping families cope with their trauma.

Hailey many families are now starting to pick up the pieces after losing everything in the almeda fire.

The billy graham rapid reposne team is pairing with the samaritan's purse to help families cope with that trauma.

Now one recourse that they have is this 30 day devotional when your world changes.

Now the point of this devotional is to have 30 days of coping with that trauma in hopes that at the end of those 30 days you'll start to feel different and be able to begin again.

I tell people healing can't start till you tell your story, once you tell your story healing starts.

The response team are trained to respond to trauma victims. and chaplin's from all over the country have come to listen to people's stories and to help make sense of the destruction and to help them rebuild.

Bless this gentelman as he is trying tio get homeowners back to a new norm trying to see what supplies they need and get back to them so people can just have a new normalgod and let them realize god that as long as they have you they have enough to start over again.

The rapid response team is also working with the samaritan's purse disaster relief fund which is a christian organization that helps people who are victims of war, poverty, and natural disasters.
