Sot: "we cannot cut our way through this deficit."

Sot: "one of the best things we can do is examine every program that we have, and we have many, and as we say look under those couch cushions and find out the things that are not working."

Sot: "i would just like to point out senator nelson that in 2011... we have never quite gotten back to the same level of funding for our schools."

Sot: "the facts are that our investments in education have outpaced the cpi since 2003."
