Grown about two their homes and communities many people who have home insurance have been asking if they can still apply with fema.

Newswatch 12's brett taylor joins us live at the pheonix center where a community meeting will be taking place here soon.

Brett what have been some of the questions or concerns that you've heard today.

Brian, one of the major questions that has been ciricling around the civic center is can a person who has home insurance apply to fema as well ááávoááá the answer is yes.

Fema is recommending that everyone who have been affected by the wildfires in oregon to apply.

They also recommend that you start the process as soon as possible even if your home owners insurance claim has been finished, that way you can be in their system but another question and concern that one person had was how the city plans to keep communities alive after being completely destroyed by the almeda fire.

It's important to me to talk about the loss of community.

We are all grieving the loss of our homes, but more importantly is the loss of our neighborhoods that were are families."

Shawna says that she does plan to stay in contact with the community of the 82 mobile homes that were lost.

But says that she is afraid when new mobile homes are built that people who lived in the area will not be able to return.
