Who Is The President Of The Chicago Fraternal Order Of Police?

John Catanzara was elected in May, winning the runoff election with nearly 55% of the vote.

He has been an outspoken critic of both city hall and top police brass, often sounding off at council meetings.

He holds no police power.

He was stripped of that after filing a police report against then-superintendent Eddie Johnson in 2018 over Johnson's participation in an anti-violence march.

Catanzara was also disciplined at least eight times for misconduct between 2003 and 2013.

Those allegations include domestic violence, associating with a felon while off duty, and working as a security guard while on medical leave from the police department for a back injury.
