Wtva alexis jones is live in amory with more on how the city is managing during this time.

I'm outside of amory city hall where the mayor shared with me how the city has been since the pandemic.

"i've been very proud with how our small town has sort of rolled with the punches through the pandemic."

Amory mayor, brad blalock, said the past few months have been difficult for residents.

Blaclock believes the city has done well during these unprecedented times, especially local businesses.

Sot: "our sales tax has done relatively well during an uncertain time."

Mayor blalock said he is proud merchants and business owners continue to find creative ways to provide services.

He also thanked residents for supporting small businesses.

Sot: "i'm pleased with how we handled things.

Of course, we can always do better with anything that we try to do, um but for right now, i'm very pleased."

As for additional help, the mayor said the city already applied and received grants from the state's coronavirus relief program.
