Jammu and Kashmir Election Commissioner KK Sharma on November 23 informed that adequate security arrangements for the upcoming District Development Council (DDC) elections are in place.
Sharma clarified that no candidate will be prevented from campaigning, and if any contestant, including independents, struggle to get adequate security detail, they can reach out to the concerned authorities.
Sharma also added that star campaigners are also allowed for the elections.
The DDC polls will be held in eight phases starting November 28 and concluding on December 29.
The counting of votes will take place on December 22.
