Brian -- students at the university seem to be following what the university is asking for.

After speaking to staff from the school they say everyone should take the necessary precautions so school can resume to normal after the break students at s-o-u began their thanksgiving break today.

With several students already returning home to their families.

Other students chose to remain off campus but stay near by for when they do return.

Media director for the school joe mosely says the school is asking people to go home for the holidays and stay there until the next term.

Certainly faculty and staff, like everybody, we're tired of the pandemic we want it to be over but i think people are being realistic that we need to do everything we can to be as careful as we can and to make sure that we slow the spread of the pandemic.

S-o-u president linda schott explained in a letter posted on the school's website that the school should begin the winter term on a positive trajectory.

In the letter the president also requires students to provide proof of a negative covid-19 test result taken two days before their return to campus next term.

Mosley says students with extenuating circumstances will be allowed to come back to the residence halls after thanksgiving.
