This holiday this holiday weekend... a local couple is missing their son but they say they are proud him!
News 10 recently spoke with jack and nancy archer.
Their son -- staff sergeant andy archer -- is a west vigo grad.
He is currently serving in south carolina.
Earlier this month... a recruit came up to sergeant archer during a meal.
Archer could see that the man was choking.
The sergeant performed the heimlich maneuver and saved the recruit's life.
The "archers" say they're proud of their son's service and this latest act of heroism.
