Bulldogs get recognition after big win

Alabama A&M defeated Jackson State 54-43 on Saturday, scoring 50 plus for only the ninth time since joining Division 1 play.

Rust?

What rust -- despite a 35 day layoff between games for alabama a&m -- the bulldogs were on fire in their win against jackson state on saturday.

Playing for only the second time this season -- a&m appeared to be in mid-season form with an offense showcase for the ages...quarterb ack ah-kweel glass threw for six touchdowns and 440 yards with zero picks-- adding another score with his legs -- as the bulldogs took down the jackson state tigers 52 to 43... the 50 point performance was only the teams ninth since moving to division one and largest against a d-1 opponent since 2008...head coach connell maynor says he really wasn't that surprised by glass's performance since thats what he sees out of him at practice everyday... "that comes from understanding the defense that they're playing, understanding the offensensive play call that we have, knowing exactly where he wants to start and where he wants to go if he dont get it and he just executed at an unbelievable level.

Coming out, he showed the nation why he's the number 20th ranked quarterback in america.

And i need to probably stop saying top 20 ranked because he's probably went lower than that with that performance that he just had."

For that performance -- glass pick up several weekly honors including swac player of the week...but he says he couldn't do it without his receivers and had high praise for the entire group.

"i'd go to war about my guys.

I'd go to war about every single one of the receivers.

I believe that they're the best in the nation -- fcs, fbs, anywhere.

We got about 6 to 7 guys that are viable to have 100 plus yards in a single game by themselves so we've got a lot of weapons .
