NATO and America's Love of War

America became the policeman of the world after World War II.

That role got the United States into a cold war and nuclear arms race with both Russia and China.

Americans solders fought and died in large scale hot wars in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

The USA was also entangled in many smaller “police actions” around the world, including an invasion of Panama in 1989 to oust the government of Manuel Antonio Noriega Moreno.
