Shrine Pass is on County Road 709 between Highway 24 and Interstate 70.
From start to finish, it is about 13 miles.
We began from Red Cliff (off of Highway 24).
Nine miles up the road is a beautiful (easy) hike to the observation deck.
Once there, look for Mount of the Holy Cross.
Even though we took pictures of the mountain range, we missed capturing the cross.
We didn’t see it behind a tree.
CR 709 continues for another 4 miles then reaches Exit 190 for Interstate 70.
Shrine Pass is south of Vail and north of Copper Mountain.
