Mk Ultra was carried out over 20 years and came to be from the fear that powers from the communist block we're doing the same with war prisoners in Korea and creating Manchurian candidates, which put in danger the United States.
The experiments carried out under Mk Ultra and it's sister project Operation Midnight Climax, were done all over the world, but the most horrific experiments took place in Montreal, Canada, where the CIA experimented on patients from the Allan Memorial Institute, a renowned psychiatric hospital affiliated with McGill University.
