The LIRR has had twelve-car trains 1,020 feet long stopping at Jamaica for the past 50 years.
Yet only two station tracks out of eight have signals positioned so that all the doors can be stopped opposite the platforms. I'd say it's time to relocate some signals, but instead they want to relocate all the platforms for a couple of billion.
