MOTORCYCLE REAR ENDS PICKUP, SODA TEXAS, 01/13/23...

Motorcycle Rear Ends Pickup, SODA, January 13, 2023 - At approximately 2:05 pm on January 13, 2023, a white 2022 Ford F-150, driven by Cheryl Ann Miller, 35, of Sulphur, Louisiana, was west-bound on US-190 East.

As Miller was passing Menard Creek Road, she was slammed from behind by a Harley Davidson Motorcycle driven by James Anthony Pendergast, 64, of Livingston.

Pendergast was apparently distracted and slammed into the rear passenger's side corner of the pickup.

Pendergast was ejected from his bike, fortunately he was wearing a helmet.

Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Sergeant Jason Paske with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Trooper Kevin Burman with the Texas Highway Patrol.

Pendergast appeared to have a broken left leg and other possible injuries.

Pendergast was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital.

Traffic was not blocked during investigation and cleanup.

Pendergast is facing a citation for failure to control speed.

Miller (nor her passenger) were injured.

A rollback wrecker from LakeView Towing recovered Pengergast's motorcycle and it will be stored in Livingston.

Miller's vehicle was driven from the scene.
