Assassination of Kim Jong-nam: 2017 assassination
The assassination of Kim Jong-nam occurred on 13 February 2017 when he was attacked with VX nerve agent at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia. Kim Jong-nam was the eldest son of deceased North Korean leader Kim Jong-il and the half-brother of current North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Analysts like Jung H. Pak of the Brookings Institution believe that Kim Jong-nam was likely murdered on the orders of Kim Jong-un.
