US national flag lowered at Chengdu consulate

The US Consulate General in Chengdu pulled down the US flag at around 06:18 on Monday just before the deadline for evacuation. Chinese Foreign Ministry on Friday informed the US Embassy in China of its decision to withdraw its consent for the establishment and operation of the US Consulate General in Chengdu. The ministry also made specific requirements for ceasing any operations and events by the Consulate General.
