From the Archives, 1983: VFL takes over troubled Swans

On May 13, 1983, the Victorian Football League board of directors met at VFL House to discuss the immediate future of the financially stricken Sydney Swans. The board decided to take control of the struggling club and delivered a $900,000 bailout subsidy.
