From the Archives, 1995: Mr Football, Ted Whitten, dies aged 62

In 1995, Ted Whitten, one of the legends of Australian rules football died. The prototype of the modern footballer – fluid and graceful, a beautiful kick with either foot, capable of filling any position on the ground - Whitten is the only person in the history of the game to have become known as Mr Football.
