Ohio lawmakers look to curb Dr. Acton's power

House Republicans approved an amendment Wednesday designed to limit the powers of the Dr. Amy Acton, the state's public health director. The amendment would limit orders issued by the Ohio Department of Health to 14 days, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. The amendment would also require Gov. Mike DeWine and Acton to seek approval from a bipartisan committee called the Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review if they want to extend a stay-at-home order.
