Pennsylvania and New Jersey unemployment rates top 15%, set record highs

Pennsylvania's unemployment rate reached 15.1% for the month of April according to the latest report released Friday from the Department of Labor & Industry. The state's total nonfarm jobs were down 1,024,100 compared to March and down 1,044,000 when compared to April 2019. Additionally, New Jersey's unemployment rate rose to 15.3%, up from 3.7% in March, federal data shows. Delaware's increased to 14.3%, up from 5% a month before. All three are record highs.
