NASA will name its Washington, D.C. headquarters building after Mary W. Jackson, the first African American female engineer at NASA and one of the subjects of the 2016 20th Century Studios movie “Hidden Figures.” Jackson, a mathematician and aerospace engineer, started her NASA career in the segregated West Area Computing Unit of the agency's Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia.
