The Wichita Wind Surge's majority owner and general partner, Lou Schwechheimer, died Wednesday afternoon. He was 62. The team announced in a news release Wednesday that Schwechheimer died from complications related to Covid-19. Schwechheimer, who spent 35 years with the Pawtucket Red Sox, was the driving force behind the return of Triple-A baseball to Wichita and the construction of Riverfront Stadium.
