American Manganese Inc (CVE:AMY) (OTCPINK:AMYZF) announced Wednesday that its contract research organization Kemetco Research has installed and prepared specialty equipment at its lithium-ion battery recycling pilot plant project. The goal of the upgrades at the facility is to further increase process capacity, without sacrificing the high recovery of lithium, nickel, cobalt, manganese and aluminum, the company said.  American Manganese’s patented RecycLiCo process delivers a closed-loop and environmentally friendly solution for the recycling of lithium-ion battery cathode materials. It is capable of up to 100% recovery with high purity of materials such as lithium, cobalt, nickel, manganese, and aluminum. READ: American Manganese says specialty equipment received for pilot plant resumption of lithium-ion battery recycling optimization tests “We believe our investment in continued improvements advances our business opportunities with global leaders in the lithium-ion battery industry who share our vision,” American Manganese CEO Larry Reaugh said in a statement. “We look forward to expanding these potential opportunities into joint ventures and the licencing of the RecycLiCo process.” Ultimately, the idea is to produce battery products that can be seamlessly integrated into the manufacturing of battery cathodes with few required processing steps.  “I’m excited to report on this next stage of optimization tests because I’m confident in Kemetco’s expertise and the RecycLiCo patented process,” Reaugh added.
