Horizon Minerals Ltd’s (ASX:HRZ) drilling results from the Windanya and Baden Powell project areas have enhanced the company's golden pipeline being progressed in Western Australia. Highly encouraging high-grade results have been received from recent holes that form part of a 50,000-metre 2021 drilling program testing high-priority resource definition and new discovery targets. The aim of the program is to organically grow the project pipeline within a 75-kilometre radius of the proposed Boorara mill adding to the six core development projects under evaluation as part of the consolidated feasibility study. Aircore drilling was completed in two parts during 2020 and 2021 due to rig availability. Area location, resources and surrounding infrastructure. Results demonstrate potential Managing director Jon Price said: “These latest drilling results continue to demonstrate the potential of this exciting 3.3-kilometre mineralised trend where historic drilling was too shallow in most areas to effectively test the bedrock. “With the 3-million-ounce Bardoc project to the north and the large-scale Paddington operation to the south, we look forward to further follow up drilling at both Windanya and Baden Powell in 2021.” High-grade drilling results Follow-up reverse circulation drilling at the newly discovered Gemini Prospect at Windana returned strong results including: 5 metres at 4.37 g/t gold from 28 metres, including 1-metre at 13.68 g/t from 38 metres; 3 metres at 4.18 g/t from 53 metres; and 1 metre at 1.76 g/t from 65 metres and 2 metres at 1.63 g/t from 69 metres. At Scorpio prospect, also at Windana, discovery hole WAC20003 intersected shallow, high-grade, quartz vein mineralisation within a weathered ultramafic host rock. Results include: 3 metres at 6.44 g/t from 3 metres, including 1-metre at 9.71 g/t from 3 metres and 1-metre at 8.04 g/t from 4 metres; 5 metres at 4.9 g/t from 26 metres, including 1-metre at 10.56 g/t from 27 metres; 2 metres at 12.58 g/t from 20 metres, including 1-metre at 23.59 g/t from 21 metres; and 1-metre at 17.48 g/t from 29 metres Infill drilling at Baden Powell project totalled 17 RC holes for 924 metres and returned results of 4 metres at 3.72 g/t from 16 metres, 12 metres at 1.46 g/t from 32 metres, 12 metres at 2.37 g/t from 8 metres and 4 metres at 1.73 g/t from 36 metres. Drilling has successfully mapped out the shallow strike continuation of the main Baden Powell mineralisation with results to be incorporated into an initial mineral resource estimate planned for the December quarter of 2021. Further step-out drilling along the new 3.3-kilometre-long mineralised trend is also planned for the September and December quarters of 2021 Next steps Follow up RC drilling is planned at Scorpio, Gemini, Capricorn and Baden Powell with gold resource estimates planned for the latter two prospects. Several new targets centred in the widespread Aquarius soil anomaly and Capricorn-Eureka trend have also been identified and will be drill tested in 2021.
