Defense department doubles contract to test Joby Aviation's 'air taxis' for military use

Joby Aviation on Wednesday said that the Department of Defense more than doubled a contract for testing of its "air taxis" for military use. Defense now plans to spend up to $75 million to test Joby's electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft for non-combat uses such as resupply, relocation of personnel and emergency medical response.
