Stock market today: Asian shares trade mixed as investors look to central banks

Asian shares are mixed in lackluster trading. Benchmarks fell in Sydney, Hong Kong and Shanghai, while rising in Tokyo and Seoul. Prices of both Honda and Nissan finished higher Thursday after unconfirmed reports in Japanese media that the automakers are reaching a cooperative deal on electric vehicles. Both automakers declined comment. Oil prices rose. On Wall Street, the S&P 500 slipped 0.2%, a day after setting an all-time high. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose but the Nasdaq composite fell.
