Online Apple Store to launch in India on Sept. 23

Apple on Thursday announced a major expansion to its India operations, saying it will open online sales in the country on Sept. 23.

The online storefront will deliver Apple's full product lineup and support services directly to customers for the first time. Touted as a "premium experience," Apple Store online in India is set to be staffed by Apple Specialists who can offer assistance with retail orders, device set up, product information and more in both English and Hindi, the company said."We're proud to be expanding in India and want to do all we can to support our customers and their communities," said Deirdre O'Brien, Apple's senior vice president of Retail + People. "We know our users are relying on technology to stay connected, engage in learning, and tap into their creativity, and by bringing the Apple Store online to India, we are offering our customers the very best of Apple at this important time."
