Man charged with trying to stab flight attendant faces judge

The man charged with attempting to open an airliner’s emergency door on a cross-country flight last weekend and trying to stab a flight attendant is heading to court. Authorities say the 33-year-old Leominster, Massachusetts man used a broken spoon to attack the crew member on United Flight 2609 from Los Angeles to Boston on Sunday.
