Farm unions reject government proposals in writing, SC acts to break deadlock

Farmer unions protesting against the farm laws wrote to the agriculture ministry on Wednesday morning, rejecting the Centre’s December 9 proposals on amending the laws and clarifying certain provisions. Farmer leader Darshan Pal of the "Sanyukta Kisan Morcha" also requested the Centre not to defame the farmers' movement and "stop holding parallel talks" with other farmers’ organisations.
