Covid roundup: India’s active caseload further dips; curbs extended in several states

India's second wave is witnessing a steady decline as for the second time this week that the daily tally of new cases had fallen below the 2-lakh mark. As part of the continued decline in the daily new cases, the country has recorded less than 3 lakh daily new cases for the twelve consecutive days now. Earlier today, India recorded 186,364 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the country's total Covid-19 infection tally to 2,75,55,457, according to the Union health ministry data on Friday.
