West Bengal chief secretary retires, appointed CM Mamata's adviser amid Centre-state row

West Bengal chief secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay retired from his post on Monday and was appointed chief adviser to chief minister Mamata Banerjee amid a row between the Centre and state government.In a media briefing, Mamata said she has appointed Bandyopadhyay as her chief adviser for the next three years. H K Dwivedi has been appointed as the new chief secretary of the state.
