India registers 8,439 cases, 195 deaths; active cases lowest in 555 days

India has reported 8,439 new cases of Covid-19 and 195 deaths in the last 24 hours, a bulletin released by the Union health ministry on Wednesday stated. India's active caseload currently stands at 93,733 - the lowest in 555 days. India's has recorded a recovery rate of 98.36%, which is the highest since March 2020.
