Staking lives to study: Children cross raging river on rickety rope trolley to reach school in Uttarakhand's Bageshwar

Seema Karki, a resident of Bhakura village in Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand, has dreams of becoming a singer one day after she completes her education. But in order to reach school, Seema, who is a student of class 12 at the Government Inter College at Nachani in neighbouring Pithoragarh district, has to cross a river using a rickety rope trolley which may snap or flip anytime.
