More rain forecast in many parts of Tamil Nadu; yellow alert in 8 districts

As the northeast monsoon intensifies over Tamil Nadu, Chennai and coastal districts experienced heavy rainfall due to a low pressure system in the Bay of Bengal. The IMD has issued a 'yellow alert' for eight districts, forecasting more rain on Wednesday. The chief minister has visited the emergency operations center and directed precautionary measures in 27 districts. The rain is expected to weaken as the low pressure system intensifies into a depression and moves towards the Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coasts. South Tamil Nadu may receive more rain than the north due to winds from the Gulf of Mannar.
