High court unwilling to step in to curb deepfakes

The Delhi high court expressed reservations about intervening in the use of deepfake content generated through AI. The court suggested that the government is better equipped to address this complex issue and find a balanced solution. A PIL was filed by advocate Chaitanya Rohilla, seeking to block access to websites that generate deepfakes. It was proposed that websites should mark AI-generated content and be prevented from producing illegal content.
